WANN MORE TERM FOR RAITH SUPPORTERS DIRECTOR

Dave Wann has won the election to choose a Supporters Director for Raith Rovers. Dave, the current Supporters Director, was elected with almost two-thirds of the votes from Rovers fans (64.1%). He will now continue in the role he has held for the last two and a half years.

Reacting to the news Dave Wann said “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to continue as Supporters Director. I would like to thank Allan Traynor for standing and it was clear throughout the process that we both have the interest of Raith Rovers at heart. The role of Supporters Director was hard earned by fans and it is important that we never take it for granted. I will be informing the Board that they have to put up with me for another two years and look forward to preparing for the new season”

Defeated candidate Allan Traynor, who received 35.2% of the vote, said “This election has given the Raith Forum the opportunity to affirm their confidence in Dave as their representative on the board, and I wish him continued success in the role. Hopefully the election process has engaged the fans and made them feel involved, and Dave will continue to involve the fans in the running of the club”

Allan Russell, Chair of Raith Supporters Trust said “I would like to congratulate Dave on his election as Supporters Director and thank Allan for being such a strong candidate. This was an incredibly well fought election and it was great to see two candidates who care passionately about the future of Raith Rovers. This is an uncertain time for Scottish football and it is important we all work together to ensure that fans continue to have a voice at Starks Park and Raith Rovers has a strong future as a community club living within its means”

DEADLINE EXTENDED FOR SUPPORTERS DIRECTOR VOTE

The deadline for voting for the new Supporters Director at Starks Park has been extended to Friday 31 May. This allows fans more time to get their vote in for who they want to represent them on the RRFC Board.

The two candidates are Allan Traynor and Dave Wann.

The hustings for the election of the RRFC supporters director was held tonight in the Raith Suite. There was a good discussion and it is clear we have two excellent candidates for the post.

The audio starts with candidate Allan Traynor thanking fellow candidate Dave Wann for performing the role of Supporters Director for the last two and a half years.

The session is chaired by Steven Lawther from the Raith Supporters Trust and there is also some input near the end of the session from John Mainland, one of the returning officers for the election in relation to a specific question about election proceedings.

Thanks to all who came along and submitted questions.

The session was also video recorded and edited highlights should be available on the Official RRFC website over the next few days.

Hustings tonight! (Wednesday 15th May)

All Raith Rovers fans will be given their chance tonight to put their questions to the two candidates hoping to become the fans representative on the RRFC Board.

The hustings will be held TONIGHT at 6.30pm on Wednesday 15th May in the Raith Suite at Starks Park

We hope as many Rovers fans as possible come along and get involved.

Submit your hustings questions

We would like all Raith Rovers fans will be given the chance to put their questions to the two candidates hoping to become the fans representative on the RRFC Board.

The hustings will be held at 6.30pm on Wednesday 15th May in the Raith Suite at Starks Park but if you can’t make it along or live away from Kirkcaldy you can still get involved.

You can submit you questions to board@raithtrust.org.uk or leave a comment below and we will endeavour to ask as many of them at the hustings meeting

All questions must be received by Tuesday 14th May.

A question and answer session with the two candidates has been arranged for 6.30pm on Wednesday 15 May in the Raith Suite at Starks Park.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

Letters to all those eligible to vote will be sent out today. New memberships taken from today will not be able to vote in this election.

Two Candidates for Director Post

Two Rovers fans have put their hat in the ring to become the latest ‘Supporter-Director’ of the club.

David Wann, who has held the post for the last two years, and Allan Traynor, a project manager, both put forward their nomination to take up the role which was secured after the Reclaim the Rovers campaign in 2005.

Both candidates have provided a statement to support their nomination and now it’s over to supporters to make their choice. Voting papers will be sent to all members of Raith Forum organisations (Trust, Supporters Club, 200 Club and Jim McMillan Club) over the next week. The election will end on Friday 24 May with results announced over that weekend.

The nomination process for the Supporters-Director role at Raith Rovers FC is now open.

Nominations, seconded by two members of Raith Forum organisations (Supporters Club, 200 Club, Jim McMillan Club and Supporters Trust), should be received no later than Friday 26 April. In the event of more than one nomination being received an election will take place between Monday 29 April and Friday 17 May.

Trust gives £1000 to club

Whilst most Raith fans were enjoying their half time pie or praying we could hold onto our 2-0 lead against Morton on Saturday outgoing Raith Trust board member John Mainland handed over a cheque for £1000 to Raith Rovers director Dave Wann.

The money represents the profits made from last summers beer festival and the sponsored triathlon Carol Smith (from Barcelona) did to raise money for the club. That makes a total of £6000 the trust has handed over to the club this season.

The trust board wishes to thank John for all his hard work with the trust where he has been a board member since the beginning. We are sure he will continue to be involved in the club and be seen at the trust table in the south stand.
