Trust Board Meeting, 18th May 2009

Venue: Novar Bar, Kirkcaldy

Present: Alan Russell (AR), Graeme Condie (GC), Tom Philips (TP) and Tam Cunningham (TC)
Apologies: Blair White (BW), John Mainland (JM) and James Proctor (JP)

The Chairman welcomed everyone and opened the meeting.

Minutes of the Teleconference

Minutes of the Teleconference on the 27 April 2009 were agreed.

Matters Arising

Action Point – AR to write to the other supporters groups to request their permission to add the Donations Account funds to the current fundraising campaign for the club’s Youth Development Initiative – Completed.

Action Point – AR to write to the Loan Note holders to request that the Trust increase it’s shareholding by buying shares with the outstanding balance in the Donations Account – Completed.

Action Point – JP to write a summary report of the last AGM – Ongoing.

Action Point – TP to contact the council’s licensing department as a priority. (Beer Festival) – Completed. A meeting will be held with TP & AR attending.

Action Point – AR to contact IFF regarding a project on how globalisation affects communities – Completed. IFF to contact Supporters Direct.

AGM Action Points – AR, JP & BW – AGM 21 May 2009 Preparations – JP & BW to produce information regarding the AGM for the members’ mail shot along with the following correspondence: AR’s Loan Note shareholding request, Election nomination form ballot paper, membership details and accounts. AR is to produce a report on the Trusts year – Completed.

AGM Action Point – Motion from last AGM “To appoint auditors and/or independent examiners”. A vote will be taken on the night of the AGM – Completion at the AGM.

Treasurers Report

GC provided an update and has a report prepared for the AGM.

Membership Update

BW prepared a report for the AGM. Briefly: Trust membership stands at 199 members.

Fans Group Fundraising

Fifes Finest raised £1k from their 60s disco night and donated the funds to the club. The group hope to raise a further £1K over the summer from other events.

The Beer Festival: planning in good progress, a date will be selected soon.

AR’s Marvin’s Believe tee shirt initiative raised £52.

The Supporters Club dance raised £3K.

Classic Tops sold 21 jerseys and raised £780, with 20 tops remaining unsold.

Fife Finest are keen to raise money with fans donating £10. This due to the Rovers success and fans saving by not having to attend the second division play-offs.

Trust AGM

AGM preparations:

  • GC has the accounts prepared.
  • AR has Chairman’s report in progress.
  • AR will have the two RRFC sponsored tops to raffle on the night.
  • AR will produce “Direction Signs” for the night.
  • AR & BW report at least two members have shown interest in joining the committee.

AOCB

GC proposed that the Trust congratulates the board, management and the players on the success of the team winning the second division championship. To be recorded in the minutes – agreed.

GC proposed that the committee have another Away Day before the season begins. To prepare budgets and other plans for the season ahead – agreed. The meeting will be on Sunday, 26 July 2009.

TC proposed that the artist Alex Burnett, who kindly donated the Rovers players’ portraits to the Trust, be made an honorary member. This was agreed. Action Point – BW to look into this.

John Garrie in New Zealand has contacted TC with ideas to raise funds for the club – ongoing.

Away Day meeting Sunday, 26 July 2009, venue probably the Boathouse, Aberdour.
