RRFC Chairman steps down

Wednesday, August 17th, 2011

I am sure most fans have seen the news that Dave Somerville is stepping down as Chairman of the Football Club. The Raith Supporters Trust would like to express our personal thanks to Dave Somerville for what he achieved in his time as Chairman. The last few years have been a challenging time for all football clubs in Scotland and with his dedication to Raith Rovers and his commitment and hard work, Dave has made a significant contribution. Most importantly of all Dave recognised the crucial role fans can play and he always worked constructively with the Supporters Trust and the Fans Director in his time as Chairman. The economic climate means there are challenging times ahead for all football clubs. The Supporters Trust will continue to work closely with the remaining Board members to help ensure that Raith Rovers has a healthy future as a true community club living within it’s means.

Supporters Trust cash injection boosts Raith

Thursday, August 4th, 2011

The Raith Supporters Trust has given Raith Rovers Football Club a major boost at the start of the season by injecting £5,000 into the club. The money arrived as they prepared for the season ahead in the First Division and means that the Raith Supporters Trust has now invested £10,000 into the club in the last twelve months.

Chairman Alan Russell said “This is part of our ongoing programme of investment in the club and shows the contribution that supporters can make. The current financial climate is a challenge for all football clubs and we are delighted to be able to help Raith Rovers at a critical time. Football clubs survive because of the support of fans and it is great that Rovers fans who want to have a greater say in the running of their football club are making a real difference”
