Fans make Liverpool takeover move
The latest in the ongoing saga about Liverpool’s ownership. To me the target seems like a difficult one to reach – the article talks about 100,000 fans raising £500m, which would be an average investment of £5,000 each – but I think the “Barcelona model” would be an interesting one to see at the top end of the English premiership. It certainly seems a lot more sustainable than chasing a succession of foreign investors in the hope that it will propel you back to the glory days of 25 years ago…
This is great news and hopefully the Liverpool fans can make a successful launch of their bid to control their club.
What a pity more clubs couldn’t follow the Barcelona model. Now …about the Rovers ….!
