Early Arrival Recommended
Thought it was worth repeating the information from the RRFC site just in case anyone has missed it.
Raith Rovers Football Club are advising fans of both Raith Rovers and Greenock Morton who intend travelling to Kirkcaldy for this Saturday’s match at Stark’s Park to make sure that they begin their journey in plenty of time to allow for the unavoidable delays that are certain to occur as a result of repair work due to start this weekend on the Forth Road Bridge.
Work to repair the surface of the bridge and to replace tension cables is scheduled to start on Friday at 7pm when traffic on the crossing will be reduced to one lane in both directions over the whole of the weekend before returning to normal on Monday morning.
The resulting traffic congestion is also likely to create major problems at Kincardine Bridge leaving fans with little chance of avoiding the lengthy delays, especially those travelling from Edinburgh and south of the bridge or Greenock and the west.
Saturday’s match will kick off at 3pm prompt and a larger than normal crowd is expected with Rovers requiring just one point to secure a place in the play offs, and Morton looking to confirm their automatic promotion to Division One, so even if you aren’t coming via the Forth or Kincardine bridges you are strongly advised to get to the ground as early as possible to avoid the last minute queues at the turnstiles.
